That BING!

It’s been quite a week for me. So many things has happened here in RouteCafe and what is about to. I love experimenting, it really gets my brain to work when I see new stuff, moreover, new stuff that haven’t been tested throughly.

Yet it feels like I didn’t aim well enough my true thoughts on BING. After all begin the author behind Bing API PHP Library and not even the slight comment on it in this blog about the search engine BING. Today I will make my first thoughts.

What should be considered to be done

Low Resolution Version of the site

Recollecting my thoughts, while “BING” claims it’s not google, they should give Google Users a Low Res Version of the site. There is a reason why google has become so popular and one of them is due to it’s simple “design”. Remove all the silverlight stuff, gradients and stuff and give the “power users” an option, you should see the tables turning eventually.

Document Search

BING has now the power to actually search all Office documents in the internet and index them. They really have the power to even make and editor out of it. Heck, using Silverlight if they please? (that, if it’s possible).

Community Horrors

While I’m on the community the forums have so many bugs on them. It’s really awful and they should be fixed on the first day users started to complain. How do you expect the community to embrace BING when the forum is almost non-usable in the aspect of searching through tags, etc etc.

Thoughts

The search engine is still new and there are now tons of “SEO experts” crawling on the forums making their claims of why their site which contains “I don’t care how many links” links hasn’t been indexed. In my opinion, everything related to SEO should be banned from all search engines. Thank god there is not social applications in BING. Else I would see it crawling with “Social Media Gurus/Experts” which if I was system administrator on BING servers I would ban all their IPs permanently without a second thought.

Mind you, it really gets on my nerves how these people try to market everything they come across. Anyway, BING search results are pretty good, at least personally speaking. The team is really good and answer as soon as they can; although sometimes they take a few days.

The feel and look for BING is what I love most. I like the idea of seeing the photos and have snippets containing history text. Really is nice and somewhat thoughtful in a way.

Let’s conclude this post mind you. I think I have said everything I had on my mind, maybe in a near future when BING becomes more mature there’ll be some extra thoughts
